Rare  is more than an album. It’s a time capsule. Written and recorded between 2012 and 2013, Rare  captures Jovaunee Pierre at just 21 years old — standing at the intersection of youth, fatherhood, loss, and self-discovery. During the making of this project, his son Messi was only a baby. In many ways, this album became his first child — a creation born alongside real life, documenting the emotions, chaos, and growth of a young man stepping into responsibility while still navigating his own identity.

The album carries deep personal moments, including a heartfelt tribute to his dog She She, who passed away in 2012 — preserving grief and love in its purest form. Songs like Faded and American  explore the party lifestyle and drug-influenced culture surrounding him at the time, offering an unfiltered look into the environment and mindset he was living through.
